Anthony and Aaron presented in ACS Undergraduate Research Symposium
Anthony Federico and Aaron Lopes, two undergraduate researchers from Hybrid Materials Laborotary, have presented their research in annual Undergraduate Research Symposium of the ACS CT Valley on Saturday April 23rd, 2016 at Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA. Anthony gave an oral presentation on his work on the preparation of hollow carbon materials. Aaron did a poster presentation on his research on the ligand-mediated selective oxidation of styrene using metal nanoclusters. Excellent job, folks!

Fire up porous oxides
Our paper “Colloidal Amphiphile-Templated Growth of Highly Crystalline Mesoporous Nonsiliceous Oxides” by Ben Liu et al. (Chem. Mater. 2015, 27, 6173–6176) has been highlighted on the front cover of Chemistry of Materials. The cover designed by Ben illustrates outstanding thermal stability of colloidal-amphiphile templates. We highlighted a colloidal amphiphile-templating method to fabricate non-siliceous mesoporous oxides up to 1000 oC.
New Publication in Chemistry of Materials
Our paper on “Colloidal amphiphile-templated growth of highly crystalline mesoporous non-siliceous oxides” was accepted to publish in Chemistry of Materials!
Congratulations to Ben and co-authors.
Two visiting Professors joined the group
We welcome two visiting Professors joined us recently.
Dr. Huiqin Yao is currently an Associate Professor at Ningxia Medical University. She is co-hosted with Prof. Rusling and will stay with us for a year.
Dr. Hongqiang Li is currently an Associate Professor at South China University of Technology. His research background is in nanocomposite materials.
